Valley Pet Surgery + offers a wide variety of additional services for you to choose from when your dog or cat is in for surgery as follows:
- Antibiotics (veterinarian determines need) – $20 to $40
- Anal gland expression ($25 if combined with surgery) – $50
- Bloodwork (Pre-anesthetic) – $50
- Required for all pets 5 years and older as well as pyometra (uterine infection) surgeries of any age.
- Highly recommended for all pets.
- Performed the morning of surgery in our in-house laboratory to screen for liver, kidney, and blood sugar values to help ensure they are a good candidate for anesthesia and surgery.
- Cerenia injection – $40 for < 50 lbs; $60 for 50 lbs and up - Required for flat-faced dogs (English & French Bulldogs, Pugs, Shih Tzus, etc.) This is an anti-nausea medication given to help decrease the risk of breathing complications secondary to vomiting.
- Convenia injection – $45 < 15 lbs; $60 15 lbs+ - Long-lasting antibiotic injection (2 weeks)
- E-collars/Surgery recovery suit – $20/$30 – Required for all dog and female cats to prevent your pet from licking or chewing the surgery incision. If owner already has a properly fitting e-collar or surgery recovery suit please bring it with you at the time of pickup.
- Ear Cleaning – Dogs $20/Cats $10
- Ear Medications (if needed) – Dogs $32 per ear; Cats (Mites treatment) $30
- FIV/FeLV Test – $50
- Heartworm Test – $50
- IV Catheter and Fluids – $50
- Highly recommended for all female dogs 5 years and older.
- May be required based on doctor’s exam the day of the procedure.
- A catheter is placed in a vein and fluids are administered to support blood pressure. It also provides faster access for IV medications in the event of an emergency.
- Microchip – $40
- Nail Trim – $10 with surgery; $35 with vaccines; $50 nail trim only
- Post-Op Pain Meds To Go Home – $20 (Required for all dogs and female cats)
- Post Surgery Sedative – $15
- Highly recommended for large males/active pets to decrease chance of swelling at incision site.
